The pool normally opens the Saturday before Memorial Day and closes on Labor Day. During this time, the pool will be open during the following hours.

Homeowners in good standing who are interested in serving on the Board can contact the management office for details. To be considered a homeowner must complete and return a biographical information form. This form is available through the onsite office. The form must be submitted by close of business (5:00 pm) Wednesday June 13, 2012. The Board will take up the appointment at the June 19, 2012 Board meeting.

Please join us in remembering Joe Koch of the Wellington Community. Joe passed away due to cancer, at the age of 30, on Wednesday May 2, 2012.

Joe was an integral part of the City of Manassas and the Wellington Community. He was an active member of the Wellington Board of Directors, most recently serving as Secretary and Treasurer. He was the co-author of the Wellington Defender newsletter. Joe was a consummate volunteer for the Wellington community. No task was out of the question, whether it was helping to put out signs for community events or helping to load mulch for the mulch sale. If help was needed, he was there – no questions asked.

He will be missed.

Frederick Joseph Koch
September 27th, 1981 – May 2nd, 2012
Frederick Joseph (Joe) Koch, 30, of Manassas, VA lost his brave battle with cancer on Wednesday May 2nd, 2012.

Joe was born on September 27, 1981 in Manassas, VA to Fred and Theresa Koch. Joe was a native of Manassas graduating from Osborn High School in 2000. He had an adventurous spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. He had an amazing way of making the people around him feel special, along with touching many lives.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother Theresa Koch. He is survived by his father Fred Koch, stepmother Sherrie Koch, sister Cadie Lawrence and her husband Mark, his beloved nephew Ethan Lawrence, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

He became one of the top selling real estate agents in Northern VA, winning numerous awards. Joe’s love and dedication to real estate helped many people find their dream home.

Joe has been surrounded and supported by a large group of wonderful friends and family as they walked down this difficult path. Please keep all of Joe’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012 at 3pm at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, 10001 Nokesville Road Manassas, VA 20110. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society: P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 or to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria: 4101 Eisenhower Ave., Alexandria, VA 22304.

The Wellington onsite community office will close at 2:30 pm today Tuesday, May 08, 2012 so that the office staff may attend the funeral service for Joe.

The Architectural Review/Covenants  Committee is tasked with; the monthly review of architectural change requests from owners, and insuring the compliance of the Wellington Community Design Standards and Guidelines.

Committee members are appointed yearly by the Board of Directors. Persons interested in serving on the committee can contact the management office for details and appointment application. The deadline for applications is May 8, 2012.

Interested parties are encouraged to attend the Committee Meeting on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 7 p.m. and the May Board of Directors Meeting on May 15, 2012 at 7 p.m. All meetings  are held in the Wellington Community Center. Appointment to the committee will be made at the May 15th Board of Directors meeting.

$2.75 per 3 Cubic Foot Bag of Double Hardwood Mulch. Payment must be received to guarantee order. Sale prices are good through April 5, 2012, after that the mulch is $3.00/bag.

• First, decorate the outside of your house for the Holiday. Enter to be judged by Friday, December 16, 2011
• Second, email mainoffice@wellingtonca.org with the subject line, “Holiday Contest” and your name and home address in the email.

Judging to be held on Monday December 19, 2011 and winners to be announced at the Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 and on the website.

This year the winners will receive randomly drawn gift cards from Baja Fresh and City Grille.
