State of Wellington Update

As many of you may know, we have a new Board as of December 2018. There is also new staff in the Wellington Office.  As a team, the Board and Management are working to maintain and improve the community. We understand that your home is likely your biggest investment, and would like to provide residents and owners in Wellington with an update on current projects that have been accomplished, work that has been approved and is awaiting scheduling or in progress, and goals for the rest of the year.

Courtesy Update – Crosswalk Request

The City of Manassas held their closed transportation meeting 7/22/19, and provided a response to our office regarding a citizen’s request of a crosswalk at the intersection of Hood Rd. and Cloverhill Rd.  The response is that the Transportation Board feels that that intersection is not safe for a crosswalk due to the curvature of the road and the many vehicles parked along it, which would obstruct individuals trying to cross the road from drivers’ view.
They will, however, be adding pedestrian signals on all sides at the intersection of Cloverhill at Wellington. They would like to encourage pedestrians to cross at this intersection where there is no view obstruction and the lights assist in controlling the flow of traffic.
Please note that this updated is provided by Wellington Community Association as a courtesy.  The Association is not directly involved in City of Manassas matters. If you have any questions regarding the City’s decision, please reach out to the City of Manassas Public Works Department.  Thank You!
