Pool FAQ – Updated for 2019!

How do pool passes work at Wellington?

All members of a household who are school-aged and older will initially receive access cards made of hard plastic upon submission of a completed application. These access cards are a photo ID which denotes the age group of the user, and are intended to be permanent. In order to create them, the office must have head-shot photos of all members of the household who will need a pass.

The only time that access cards should be reissued is when a child changes from one age group to another. The age groups are: Under 12, 12-15, 16-18, and Resident Adult.  To enter the pool, the members of each household must check in with the lifeguard at the desk and scan their card.  Wellington residents may bring in guests using the guest pass which was sent to each household in the pool mailing. Owners who are transferring privileges to their tenants are also responsible for providing them with the guest pass.

Under 12: Must be accompanied by a chaperone.

12-15: Can come to the pool without an adult, but may not bring guests or other patrons under 12.

16-18: Can come to the pool without an adult, may bring up to two guests per visit and/or patrons under 12.

Resident Adult: May bring up to 5 guests per visit.

Can I bring guests to the pool?

Using the guest pass, an adult may bring 5 guests per visit. A minor aged 16-18 may bring 2 guests per visit. The guest pass will be hole-punched by the guards once for each guest.  If you run out of punches, a new guest pass can be purchased from the office for $20.00 payable by check made out to Wellington Community Association.

How do I validate my pool passes/access cards?

A mailing was sent to all homeowners on April 23, 2019. The deadline for submission of this form was May 15, 2019.  Despite this, we are still accepting applications to validate access cards. If you did not receive the mailing or lost the form, you can email the office at wellington@wellingtonca.org for a copy.

I am a new owner or tenant, how do I get initial pool passes/access cards?

A mailing was sent to all homeowners on April 23, 2019, which contained the pool forms to apply for initial cards. The deadline for submission of this form was May 15, 2019.  The form must be submitted with head shot pictures of all members of the household who are school-aged or older, as well as proof of residency for all members.  This can include a bill, change of address, school ID, Driver’s License, report card, etc.  Though the deadline has passed, the office is still accepting submissions. However, there may be a delay in receipt of your pool access cards, as they are in low supply and we are waiting on a shipment.  If you are an owner, the owner form must be submitted to the Wellington office via email, fax, drop box, or in person during business hours. For tenants, the form must be signed by the homeowner or property management company, verifying that the owner has relinquished access to the amenities and transferred that access to the tenants.

When can I get pool passes?

You can email the Wellington office (wellington@wellingtonca.org) your forms and head shot pictures at any time, and your access cards will be created as soon as possible and left at the guard check-in station for you to pick them up during pool operating hours. You can also visit the Wellington office between 9:00am and 4:00pm M-F if you need 3 or fewer cards.

Is there a cost for pool passes?

There is no cost for initial pass cards for new owners and/or owners who have not previously had passes.  There is no cost for updated cards when a child moves from one age group to the next

Is there a charge for lost or damaged passes?

Because pass cards are intended to be permanent, there is a charge to replace them if lost or damaged. The Wellington Pool Resolution states that the charge is $25 per pass, but we are aware that the website states $6 per pass due to a change in policy under a previous Board which was never formalized. As such, the office will honor the $6 per pass price until the policy can be reviewed and updated after a meeting, at which point the website will be updated to reflect any changes.

Does the pool close for inclement weather?

Most of the time, the pool deck will remain open, but pool access will shut down for 30 minutes for each instance of thunder, and 1 hour for each instance of lightning. The pool may also be intermittently shut down during heavy rain. Guard staff may be reduced on rainy/stormy days, but the pool will not fully shut down.

Rarely, the Wellington pool will be completely closed and shut down for inclement weather. In the event that this occurs, pool management will notify the office, and there will be a post on the website and Wellington Facebook.

If I notice an issue at the pool, where do I report it?

If there is an immediate issue, notify pool staff during your visit. The pool manager will communicate with management as necessary.

If the issue is not urgent, the best course of action is to send a Facebook message on the Wellington Pool Facebook page here. or email management at wellington@wellingtonca.org.

If I am not a member or non-resident member, can I pay to access the pool?

No, the Wellington pool is only open to members and their guests. A Wellington pool member must accompany their guest(s) at all times.

Please take a moment to review the list below and consider the condition of your home and Lot as we move into the warmer months, so that you and your home are ready for inspection.

Some of the main items of focus for this season’s inspection cycle are:

Siding

Concrete and asphalt lead walk, porch, steps, and driveway conditions

Shutters and wood trim

We will also continuously be inspecting for routine items such as trash, grass and lawn maintenance, and stored items.

Please note that the list of potential violations as provided is not comprehensive, but highlights some of our main areas of focus for 2019. Please contact the office with any questions.

Volunteer Opportunity!

By |2019-04-17T12:59:51-04:00April 17th, 2019|Board of Directors, General, News|

Wellington Community Association is seeking committee volunteers for Social Events and Newsletter Committees!

The Board is looking for individuals who are interested in helping plan and run Wellington’s scheduled social events for the 2019 season. The Social Committee will also be responsible for proposing, planning, and running events for 2020 and beyond.

We are also looking for volunteers to help write, edit, and assemble a print newsletter for quarterly mailing to Wellington residents. The newsletter would include Association updates, meeting dates, local events, and other information our homeowners might consider important or interesting.

We look forward to expanding and improving on Wellington’s community engagement, and we need the right volunteers to help us do it!  If you are interested in seeking appointment to the Social Events or Newsletter Committee, please contact the Wellington Office at wellington@wellingtonca.org.  We look forward to hearing from you!
